About Department:

The department of sociology is an academic unit dedicated to the study of society with phenomena such as causes and changes of social life, institutions that shaped the society and the consequences of human behavior. It provides students with a deep understanding of the complex dynamics of societies and the interactions between individuals, groups and institutions. The Department of Sociology was established in the year 1997 in Regional College which offers three/ four years undergraduate degree course.

The curriculum includes courses in various subfields such as social theory, research methods, social stratification, race and ethnicity, gender studies, family dynamics, political sociology and rural and urban sociology. These courses will prepare students with critical thinking skills and methods to employ suitable tools for analyzing and interpretation of social phenomena.
