About department:

         The Department of Economics was set up in the year 1986 with the establishment of the
college. The department was permanently affiliated with Manipur University in1997. It offers
a total of eighteen economics core courses which students are required to take across eight
semesters for a four-year UG degree.
          The objectives of the course are to give students knowledge of the scope of various fields of
economics and applications of its diverse theories. It also aims at empowering the students
with critical, analytical and creative use of theories to understand the socio-economic
environment and approach contemporary real-world problems with better solutions.
Students will have the ability and knowledge to analyze the performance and functioning of
government, markets and institutions in the context of social and economic problems.
