About Department:

History is being taught since 1997 in the College with a vision to provide the students with the knowledge of history which shall help them to lead a good and prosperous life. Under graduate course in history consists of various aspects of history of India and world including the theory and practice of historical writing. Nowadays, it also provides students the unique opportunity to study the Regional history (local history). NEP 2020 is being put into practice from the academic session, 2022-23.

The department has been obtaining a good academic performance every year. Faculties of the department are trying to assist the students in different areas to achieve their overall expectations.  Alumni of the department have contributed to various fields. The students of the Department visit various historical places for extending their knowledge.

The college is permanently affiliated to Manipur University. The college also got 12(B), which provides the faculties the opportunity to do research activities with the financial assistance of UGC and other research funding institutes of the country. Faculties of the department are familiar with new technology of teaching and learning. Study of history is interesting as it furnishes cultural awareness to the students and also helps them to develop crucial thinking. Indeed, History is one of the most preferred subjects for the aspirants preparing for competitive examinations.
