About Department:

The Department of Botany, Regional College was introduced in the year 1997 and  the  Honours  session  for   Botany  was  opened  on  December 2014 as 5^th semester for Bachelor of Botany Course. Since its inception the department has produced many first divisioners and has also produced position holder students in the year 2016 and 2021. 

The main objective of the department is to inspire and enable the students to handle the complex challenges that lie at the interface of Botanical Sciences.

The well equipped laboratory plays a major role in providing practical exposure which in turn helps in strengthening the basis upon which the students have in their future course of studies.

The department has organized field study tours and other programmes as per the requirement and syllabus prescribed. 

Moreover, on the 28^th of April 2023, the department has also organized a ‘National Seminar’ jointly with Chemistry and Zoology Departments in collaboration with IQAC, Regional College.

Last but not the least, the well trained and qualified faculty of the department is fully dedicated to improve and uplift the students morally and leaves no stone unturned to give the best quality education and utmost satisfaction to the students.
